Santa now delivers to bold boys

Ricky was in one of those moods last night where nothing we said or did had any effect on his behaviour whatsoever. It doesn’t happen often, but with me just having had the chemo and Ian frantically trying to do everything, we were both a bit at our wit’s end.

Eventually, in desparation and for the first time ever, I tried to wheel out the age-old threat of “Ricky, if you continue this bold behaviour, Santa won’t come. He doesn’t come to bold boys”.

This did not have the desired effect. Fixing me with a sceptical stare, head cocked to one side and with his hands on his hips,ย my three year old replied, “Now, Mummy…that’s not REALLY going to happen, is it?”

Clearly he and Santa are in close cahoots. I am left bewildered by my lack of authority, missing the one arsenal of tactical behaviour modification that I thought would always work.

Santa had better get his ass in gear, as his new regulations regarding delivieries to bold children will no doubt leave him and the elves rather short handed in the run up to Christmas Eve….

This post cracked me up! What a smart kid! I can just see Santa scrambling in his workshop to make enough new goodies to cover all of the new kids on the list…

I know!!! It’s so hard to keep a straight face when they come off with this stuff!

Works every time and they never see it coming! ๐Ÿ™‚

Why did I not think of that!! Thanks for the tip! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The thought will be in his subconscious! A fictional call to Santa sometimes works in re-affirming his validity! (when my cousin does this his boys are reduced to tears!)

Aha! Another excellent blackmail plan!!! ๐Ÿ˜€

morethananelectrician has the right idea – Russian justice! A good old chuck Norris round house kick always does the trick.

But then again, there’s no reason why Santa shouldn’t still visit. Have you ever seen Futurama…?

Ricky LOVES Futurama…but that episode scared the socks off him the first time he watched it, and it’s only recently that he’s been able to watch it without fear, ha ha!

    Oh, that’s too cute!

I like MTAE’s suggestion though…I’m sure that would work! ๐Ÿ˜‰

MTAE sounds like he speaks from experience! I will try it next time they step out of line!

First grade inflation, and now good-kid-Santa-inflation? What the hell?!? It’s like Calvin’s dream.

That’s exactly it. Honestly, the youth of today… **shakes head**

OK, here’s what we do when ours try to get around the whole Santa thing…
“Well, then, if Santa *does* come and leave you toys, we’ll just pack them right up and give them to some children who listen to their mums and dads.”

*hides under chair* Yes, I’m quite possibly the meanest mum around…

Karen, you are SO not mean, you just know how to work the system better than I do after six kids….I will be using this one **muhahahaaaaaa** ๐Ÿ˜›
