Weird stuff

OK, I still have a temperature, but lay low today and actually feel OK if I have pain killers, so things are, I hope, improving, despite my “woe is me” posts of the last few days. Sorry about that! πŸ˜€

Can you tell that mentally, I feel a bit better too? I never was good at keeping these things to myself!

Couple of silly things tonight, apart from my complete u-turn on my “I feel like shit and want to pass my misery on to AAAAALLLL of you” post of yesterday!

Firstly, can I thank my Dad for calling at the house today with a spectacular and very delicious homemade spinach and cheese lasagne for me. He’d heard that spinach was a great anti cancer food, and hand picked his own home grown veggies before cooking it for me. Believe me when I say that fathers DO NOT get any better than my Dad. He is the best person I know- always there when I need him, with love and support, kindness and wisdom, willing to overlook myΒ foul temper and forgive my many shortcomings. Plus he’s a killer cook, great company, whisky connoisseur, and outstanding person in every way. Love you, dad. The lasagne is, in the words of Robbie, DEEEEEEE-di-dous. πŸ˜€

Next- my cat is making me very jumpy. Those of you who are regular readers will be familiar with the fact that my cat Max is huge, ginger and white, and as lacking in brainpower as he is lacking in nastiness. He’s scared of Robbie, who persecutes him relentlessly, but he never retaliates, and acts in a very sweet and self sacrificing manner with the kids at all times. Max is not a particularly demonstrative cat when it comes to me. He’s very big, and I am not. Therefore, he finds sitting on my knee normally to be an uncomfortable experience which is best avoided. In his 8 years, he’s maybe sat on my knee three times, for a period of about 30 seconds at a go. Now- the past three days, Max has been on my knee ALL THE TIME. Plus, I’ve not been well, so have been in bed most of the time, and he’s been constantly at my side. Florence Nightingcat. What the hell is the deal? Cats are meant to have ESP- does he know something I don’t??? It’s making me TWITCHY!!!! If I find out at my next scan that there is a spread of this bloody thing that they hadn’t found before, I’ll bloody well know that HE knew first!!!

Lastly, the weather. We have very temperate weather here- it doesn’t get very hot, it doesn’t get very cold. Pretty much the same shit all year round. It rarely snows.

Well, this is the scene from Ricky’s bedroom window yesterday afternoon. It’s not the best picture in the world, but it was snowing pretty good, and although it didn’t really lie, I thought it was blog worthy just because it’s October, and when I was a kid, we regularly went into the sea in Donegal at Halloween!! Crazy for this time of year!

Anyhow- hopefully I won’t whine too much for the next few days. I’m going to try and work tomorrow…

Now- off to reply to all your many comments, which I have been neglecting! πŸ™‚

Honey you have EVERY right to whine, better out than in as they say. Sounds like you are so loved and adored and that is just what you need right now. Unfortunately, it takes crap like this cancer business to make us all tell each other how much that person means to us, and how not to take each other for granted. In a very strange way i feel blessed that I am at least having that opportunity and realisation to tell my loved ones on a daily basis how much I love them. Does that make sense??

Anyway, tiredness setting in now, PLEASE don’t reply to this, you have too many other comments to reply to!!

PS, I am now hairy, unable to use deoderant AND WAIT FOR IT, no perfumed soap. Along with the mixture of aqueos cream that i am applying daily i smell like a french onion seller that has fallen into a vat of hairy emoliant. πŸ™‚

Big hugs and admiration for you xxx

Honey, everything you say makes sense! πŸ™‚ I am sorry for all YOU are going through. You do make me laugh though! πŸ˜› BIG massive, slightly whiffy hugs back atcha! xxxxx

What a crappy looking day out there…I hope you hid inside all day.

I most certainly did! I don’t think I have been outside since Monday! πŸ˜€

I think Max *does* have ESP. He’s giving you all the love and attention that all of us wish we could be there to lavish all over you. Besides, he’s probably not used to you staying in one place for that long… LOL

Sorry about the crappy weather… I wish it were warm enough to take a dip in the sea, here, too!

    Lots of love…

That’s what Ian thinks about Max’s behaviour! πŸ™‚ Thanks Karen.

Good to hear you are feeling better Suzy and that a hospital visit was not called for. With weather as miserable as we’re having just now, being tucked up in bed and having a good rest sounds like the only place to be.
    That lasagne sounds sooo delicious
    love and (((hugs)))

I should get dad to post the recipe, lol!

You are sounding much better. I’m so glad for that! You have a wonderful dad. He sounds like a very special guy. That spinach lasagna sounds delish!

And as for Max, I’m sure he just knows that you aren’t feeling well and it’s his way of showing you he cares and wants you to feel better. Plus, if I were in bed sick, my cat is right by my side, too.

Funny about the snow in October for you guys. So much for global warming! lol

I’m sure you’re right about Max, lol! πŸ˜€

cats are truly amazing. they know when to moan themselves and when to comfort other people. when we had a death in the family a while ago, our cat stopped asking to be fed and simply went from knee to knee being adorable and very cuddlesome. you’ve needed cuddles and your cat has obliged. it’s nothing sinister. i send much love xx

Emma, I was just thinking about you guys today! Hope all is well with you all. xxx I’m sure you’re right. πŸ™‚

Pets know when their people don’t feel well or when they are sad. I know mine do and they stick close to me and become extra cute just to make me happy.

It’s good to read that you’re feeling better, but remember you are allowed to a good woe is me post now and then.

I remember it snowing on Halloween a few times when I was little. That’s way too early for snow here. Grr! But it does look like a great day to curl up with your cat, a fuzzy blankie and a good book. πŸ™‚

The cat’s yelling at me now, having saved it since last Thursday…I suspect he just wants the armchair I’m sitting in, though… πŸ˜€

DO NOT REPLY TO THIS, Suzy. Save your energy.

Pets really, really do know when something isn’t right with their fur mamas or daddies. He’s just trying to take care of you.

So glad to hear today was better. Hugs, hugs, hugs.

He does know…he’s very sweet really…

hugs Suzy. I’m thinking of you a lot, and I think Max knows you aren’t well, and really wants to be near you. I know my cat does that as well.

I hate your update saying you are so sick again. 😦 missing you!

    Thanks Corey! ((hugs))

No response to this is necessary!

I was just thinking about you and wanted to visit. I miss you when you have to be away from us, but I hope that you’re resting and feeling better every day.

Thanks Heather, feeling much better now, my Google Reader is going to keep me busy for a while, and I see you’ve done lots of work in your blog, I will be over shortly! πŸ˜€
