Settling in at the new daycare

The boys started their three day settling in process at the new daycare today. It went pretty well. Ricky wasn’t phased at all- they gave him some juice and a biscuit, and he didn’t even look back at us before he ate and drank and ran off to play with the other kids! :-D

Robbie took a little time to settle, as you would expect- he’s 13 months old- but we stayed with him for 45 minutes, by which time he had thawed out somewhat, and then left him for an hour.

I went and did the grocery shopping. BOY had I forgotten how easy that is with no children in tow!!! Noone throwing themselves to the floor and refusing to walk any further, noone crying because they are overtired, noone suddenly annoucing that “they need the toilet” just as your trolley is full and there’s no way you can get there in time… :-D

When I got back, Robbie was eating his lunch (chicken casserole which both looked and smelled yummy), and couldn’t care less that I was there. Ricky was moderately pleased to see me, but made sure he finished his game before he came over. Typical three year old!!

I am delighted that they appear to be settling in well. A big weight off my mind.

It rained this afternoon so we were house bound, but tomorrow after they have their daycare session I am determined to do something nice with them. I hope the weather is better!

What fun can shopping be with no one throwing a tantrum?

Where is the excitement?

I guess you even had time to shop around for the best deal…amazing!

Oh, I’m so glad to hear that things are going well with the daycare switch! Yay! What a relief.

And all of these vacation pictures have me swooning! You live in a truly beautiful place.
